A fast-moving wildfire north of Selah called the Cottonwood 2 Fire has burned more 10,000 acres of grass and brush and is 15 percent contained this morning.Several homes had been threatened earlier, but Yakima County Sheriff's Sgt. George Town says a wind shift turned the fire away from those homes. Washington Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman Janet Pearce says two outbuildings have burned since the fire started Tuesday morning in the vicinity of Durr and Sheep Company roads.

Authorities say the fire was reported by a man who was target practicing in the area. More than 100 firefighters are battling the fire, along with six helicopters and two air tanker planes.
