I got to see "The Tez" play with the Seahawks many times on TV, and a few times live in the old Kingdome. But I did have a brief one on one encounter with him at Sea-Tac Airport nearly 17 years ago.It  was 1995. Dennis Erickson was in his first year coaching the Seattle Seahawks. My wife Sandy and I were on our way back from our honeymoon in Las Vegas. Our Alaska Airlines flight came into Sea Tac on a Saturday morning. We had de-planed and were walking down the concourse when we met one of those courtesy carts that elderly or handicapped passengers get a lift in. Only, the passenger in this cart was neither. In fact, he wasn't sitting in the seat. It was the Seahawks All Pro DT Cortez Kennedy. The Hawks were headed out to play San Diego the next day. Tez wasn't just sitting in the back of the cart, he totally filled up the back of the cart. As he went past, I gave him a thumbs up, and he gave me one of those chin up, backwards head nod  salutes as if to say "whats up?"

I just could not get over how big he was!

It's good to see another career long Seahawk headed to the Hall Of Fame.
