Coroner Sexual Harassment Lawsuit Settled For $150,000

The Yakima County Commissioners have approved a $150,000 settlement in a sexual harassment lawsuit against Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins.
The lawsuit was filed by a woman who accused Hawkins of sexual harassment in August of 2016. The original lawsuit seeking $750,000 was filed in may of 2017.
Hawkins was asked by the County Commissioners to step down in 2016 but he remains as the Yakima County Coroner. His term ends this year. But he says he has plans to file for re-election.
