Today is a special day for some Veterans from the Yakima Valley. Rep. Dan Newhouse today welcomed Central Washington veterans involved in the Inland Northwest Honor Flight to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.
“As a nation, we owe the freedoms we enjoy to the sacrifice of the men and women of our Armed Forces,” said Rep. Newhouse. “These brave men and women have put their lives on the line defending our liberty. It was a privilege to express gratitude to the veterans of World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War for their honorable service.”
Inland Northwest Honor Flight and other Honor Flight organizations transport war veterans to Washington D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices at no cost to the veterans.
