The City of Yakima has grown and developed over the years making it what it is today, and community service played a big roll in that. Thursday evening 17 nominees were honored at the Yakima Convention Center for their work in the community.

The Chamber of Commerce recognized nominees in several different categories. We spoke with the Chamber of Commerce, they told recognizing the communities accomplishments is part of what makes this community great and encourages people to keep up the hard work.

Doors for the black tie event opened up at 6:00, they had  live music and dinner. In addition to the 17 nominees they also honored the Ted Robertson Community Service Award recipients YVCC president Dr. Linda kozminsky and and local business owner Ron King.
