Community Meeting Planned To Talk About Violence

In an effort to answer questions and concerns about recent violence in Yakima a special meeting will be held on Thursday night at the Seasons Performance Hall. It's being organized by officials from Safe Yakima Valley. The Executive Director and Yakima City Council member is Carmen Mendez. "It's an opportunity to come together as a community and a chance to listen to what is being done to address some of the violent crimes that have been happening over the last two weeks." Mendez says they've invited community city, county and church leaders and law enforcement to talk about how Yakima can prevent further violence. The meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m.  to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seasons is located at 101 N. Naches Avenue.
