On this day in history in 1886, the pursuit for a hangover and headache cure led Atlanta pharmacist Dr. John Styth Pemberton down the path to the invention of what was to become one of the world's wealthiest and most recognized companies.  Pemberton's invention was the flavor syrup for Coca Cola.

According to an article from the website Motley Fool https://www.fool.com/investing/2016/09/06/how-much-is-the-coca-cola-company-worth.aspx   Coca-Cola has an enterprise value of almost $213 billion.   Forbes lists Coca Cola as the world's 5th most valuable brand behind tech giants Apple, Google, Microsoft & Facebook.

Not bad for a misguided hangover cure!  Happy Anniversary to the red, white and world famous Coca Cola company and the syrup that started it all 132 years ago today.  And today, the company wants you to know that is so much more than soda.
