“I Wear My Sunglasses At Night”, “Cheap Sunglasses”, “My Future’s So Bright I Gotta Wear Shades” are all hit songs about sunglasses. All the rock stars and cool kids wear them, even indoors. Elton John is said to own over one thousand pair.
Nobody is sure where Sunglasses Day got its start but shades go back as far as 14th century China, where judges used eyewear made of smoke-coloured quartz to mask their emotions. Nice shades your Honor!
