Clint Didier, the Eltopia farmer and 4th Congressional District candidate, conceded to his fellow Republican in a statement on Wednesday.

Didier had hoped that a close ballot count would force a recount in his race with Dan Newhouse, but conceded on Wednesday morning.

For two weeks, the race in Washington State's 4th Congressional District between two Republicans, myself and Mr. Newhouse, has been too close to call. However, with just a handful of votes left to count, I concede my opponent is the person who will represent you when the 114th Congress convenes in January.

Didier also pointed to what he called negative messages by the Newhouse campaign as one of the reasons he didn't win the election.

My successes in life have always revolved around positive thinking with positive results so it is very disturbing that negativity can be such a successful tool in the political arena.

Didier went on to say in his statement that he would be forming the Washington Patriot PAC to support "the principles contained within the Republican Platform; i.e., right-to-life, individual liberty, private property rights, and limited government," and to "help fund future conservative candidates who strive to uphold those same values."
