Life in the 2000's harder than you hoped or thought it would be?  Old School Comic Eddie Lawrence - The Old Philosopher - did a semi-famous bit that included the line, "Is that what's bothering you Bunky."

Truth is clinical depression is no laughing matter and according to a new report from health insurer Blue Cross Blue Shield, since 2013, diagnoses of clinical depression have risen by a third!

The report says after high blood pressure, depression has second greatest impact on health noting that on average, people with depression may lose up to 9.7 years of healthy life.

And youth is no buffer from the growing statistics.  Since 2013 depression rates have jumped up by 47 percent among Millennials, 65 percent among adolescent girls and by 47 percent among adolescent boys.

Sorry ladies, women of any age are more likely than men to be diagnosed with clinical depression.

Maybe a minute or two of old school comedy will at least lift your mood for a spell?
