City’s Graffiti Hotline A Great Tool

The city of Yakima's graffiti hotline is one way you can help make a difference in your neighborhood during the "Graffiti Be Gone" campaign over the next two weeks.

City Code Administration Manager Joe Caruso says the city graffiti hotline is available to anyone who needs help in removing the tag or graffiti. He says he works closely with the Yakima Office of Neighborhood Development.

“They work with the property owner and get permission to paint out the graffiti.”

Caruso says if neighborhood development officials cannot find permission to do the work the code department takes over and sometimes cleans up properties and holds absent owners responsible by placing leans on properties for the cost of cleanup.
