It's summer and a lot of people are spending time at Yakima City Parks. If that's you here's a question. What would you like to see at a city park that's not already available? Yakima Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkenson urges you to take a new city parks survey. "We need to know what the community wants in parks and rec but we also need to know what we're doing well and other things we're not doing as well as we should. So this is just a way for people to communicate with us."
The city has randomly mailed 4500 surveys to Yakima residents but the survey is also available online at the city website at yakimawa.gov. Wilkinson is encouraging people who receive a survey to fill it out and return it as soon as possible.
As incentive, a coupon for a free swim at Franklin pool for up to five people and a round of golf at fisher park golf course are included in the survey packet sent randomly to residents.
Wilkinson expects work on revising the parks and recreation division comprehensive plan to be completed early next year
