A push to bring back fire inspections in Yakima could move forward next week. An increase in business license fees would pay for them.  The plan would reinstate the inspections under the fire department. Budget cuts lead to the position being eliminated.

Under the new proposal, businesses would need an outside firm to complete safety checks for things like sprinklers.  Another option would have businesses pay after each inspection.  City council will cover both at Tuesday's meeting.
