City of Yakima Clears First Ever Traffic Calming Project

Last night the Yakima City Council voted 7-0 to approve a plan by the Barge Chestnut Neighborhood Association to install traffic calming devices through the historic area. Speed control and cut through traffic has been a complaint for years. The first phase will begin in the next month and cost $50,000.
