Yakima's homeless population may soon have a new encampment. The Yakima City Council Tuesday set a study session for December 16 at city hall to talk further about opening an encampment on city property near Yakima Fire Station 95 on East Nob Hill Blvd. A proposed plan to be discussed talks about providing bathrooms and shower access for the homeless. The city is looking for an area where people could camp during the cold winter months when they choose not to take advantage of cold weather shelters.
