The Yakima City Council will meet Tuesday and is expected to approve the total city budget of $208 million for 2015.

Yakima City Manager Tony O'Rourke says the plan sets a course of growth for the city over the next 20 years. This year and every year after, an additional $750,000 will be set aside for parks and recreation. But he says the budget is primarily focused on public safety and economic development.

The budget also includes upgrades for roads and the airport.

Also on the Tuesday afternoon agenda, the City Council will consider giving O'Rourke a raise of 2.5 percent for a total salary of $179,375.

The council meets at 2 p.m. at City Hall, 129 N. Second St.
