More good news for Yakima Valley wine producers according to a report in the Los Angeles Times. New research says that patients with well-managed type 2 diabetes can benefit greatly from a daily glass of wine!

When compared to patients who drank a glass of mineral water each day, diabetes patients who had a daily glass of white wine showed improved heart health, better sleep and lowered triglyceride levels over a two year period.

Red wine drinkers got that, and more --an average 10 percent increase in overall cholesterol levels, significant increases in the so-called “good” cholesterol and improvements in diabetes patients’ all-important A-1-C numbers.

Not to mention mood benefits when that wine is shared with family friend or loved one!
