Community members, local leaders and social justice advocates will gather on Saturday, March 23 at 11 am at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Yakima to celebrate the life of Cesar Chavez. At noon, participants will march from St. Paul’s to The Seasons Performance Hall at 101 N. Naches Avenue.  Chavez was a leader in the fight for farm worker’s rights, founding the United Farm Workers of America. Chavez passed away in 1993, but his work continues to improve the lives of migrant workers right here in the Yakima Valley. Carlos Olivares, CEO of the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, marched alongside Chavez when he came to Yakima.
