Saturday is a special day for wineries in the Yakima Valley. Saturday, November 8 is National Wine Tourism Day says John Cooper the Executive Director of Yakima Valley Tourism. "Tourism is about a $350 million dollar industry and certainly wine tourism is a big part of the visitor experience."
The industry also employs about 1900 people in Yakima County that generates more than $285 million for the local economy in all aspects of the wine industry. Cooper says Wineries are in the middle of the harvest and the crush and are welcoming visitors this Saturday during National Wine Tourism Day.
