May is here ..can June weddings be far behind! The old proverb says  Marry in the month of May, and you'll surely rue the day. BUT Marry when June roses grow, over land and sea you'll go. Science Proves Power Mirrors Cocaine Addiction

What’s the saying? Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely?  Well that more than just a saying or observation, it’s a scientific finding. We've all seen someone go crazy with power, but for the first time scientists say that power is indeed addictive -- just as much as cocaine!  No wonder drug kingpins are out of control…they are living on a double dose!

So how does it work biologically speaking?  Researchers say the feeling of power has been found to have a “similar effect on the brain to cocaine by increasing the levels of testosterone and its by-product 3-androstanediol in both men and women

Washington in Top Five of Least Corrupt States

Government and Integrity aren’t usually found in the same sentence...but both are the subject of this new report.  How well are the states doing on fighting corruption in government?

The Center for Public Integrity recently released a report detailing the risk of corruption and lack of accountability in all 50 states. No state is without flaws and nearly every state received a grade that would give residents cause for concern. Georgia came out the worst....and New Jersey—believe it or not—came out best.

But sitting there, smack dab in the middle of the top five at number three, is Washington State.  Yea for our team!

Aloha! The List Of Places We Most Want to Live

You can take the man out of the Northwest but you can’t take the Northwest out of the man.  In my 30+ years in Washington I have found residents here to be extremely loyal to their home state.  Ask a Washingtonian where he/she would live IF they could live in any of the great 50 United States and more often than not they’ll stick with Washington…BUT not all U.S. residents see it that way .

A Harris poll reveals the top choices if you could live anywhere in the United States from Maine to Hawaii.  In the poll respondents weren’t allowed to choose the state in which they currently reside.

Power Can Corrupt And It Makes You Tall

We all know the experience of doing something stupid or bad and getting called on it and the resulting consequence of  “feeling small”.  Or is it just me?  Anyway, most of us have felt small at one time or another but what about the opposite?  Have you ever done something that made you feel tall?  A good deed, a moment of character?

Well if not, there may still be a chance and all you have to do is become the boss.

The Myth of the Messy Desk Exposed!

As kids some of us were told over and over again to “clean up your room”!   In fact the material mess became the battlefield for many a family fight.  Some of us held to our disorganized ways through college (how did we survive) and into the workplace.  There, the manager-as-mom chanted the old adage about a messy desk being a sign of a messy mind .  Well, score one for our side because

new research suggests a disorganized environment may actually foster a clearer head.  Booyah!  Read on…
