Columbia River Public Access to be Announced in January

Grant County officials plan to announce in January whether they will be able to reopen any part of the Columbia River Shoreline between Wanapum Dam and Rock Island Dam for public use sometime this spring.

Tribal Casinos Won’t Take Welfare Cards Anymore

OLYMPIA (AP) -- Tribal casinos in Washington will no longer cash welfare cards under an agreement with the state Gambling Commission.

The commission said Tuesday that 27 of the 29 federally recognized tribes in the state -- including the Yakama Nation -- have agreed to amend gambling agreements to ensure that all cash dispensing and point-of-sale machines refuse electronic benefit cards
