9/11 Memorial Misspells Victim’s Name
In an “oops” of epic proportions, a 9/11 victim’s name was apparently misspelled on the New York memorial unveiled this past weekend.
Jeffrey Schreier worked for financial firm Cantor Fitzgerald, and was one of the many from that company killed on September 11, 2001.
When his relatives visited the memorial during the 10th anniversary commemorations on Sunday, they were shocked to see his first name had been spelled “Jeffery” instead.

Claudia Rendon of Pennsylvania has had a tough year. First, her mother and uncle died, then her father was diagnosed with leukemia. As if that wasn’t enough, she later discovered her son, Alex, was in need of a kidney transplant.
Doctors found she was a suitable donor match, so Rendon took time off work to give Alex the kidney he needed. But when she tried to return to her job several weeks later, she found she’d been fired.
Bank of America to Cut 30,000 Jobs As Part of $5 Billion Reductions
On Monday, Bank of America announced that part of its plan to cut $5 billion in spending by 2014 includes the elimination of 30,000 jobs.
CEO Brian Moynihan made no mention of layoffs during an investor conference, and the bank says it expects the job losses to occur naturally through attrition and not rehiring when people vacate their positions.
College Football Top 25 Weekend Recap – Week Two
While many of this weekend’s games were just tune-ups for showdowns to come, there were several great battles to keep things exciting, including Michigan’s last-second win over Notre Dame, South Carolina’s shootout victory over Georgia and Auburn stuffing Mississippi State at the goal line to win their 17th straight game.

During Sunday’s ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, Paul Simon gave a haunting acoustical performance of ‘The Sound of Silence’ while some onlookers wept.
Regis Philbin Announces His Final ‘Live!’ Show Will Be November 18
He’s been talking about retiring from ‘Live! With Regis and Kelly’ for months, and now television stalwart Regis Philbin has announced his final show will be on Friday, November 18.
The show, which started in 1983 as a local New York City program called ‘The Morning Show,’ went national with co-host Kathie Lee Gifford in 1988. Actress Kelly Ripa stepped in as Gifford’s replacement after she left the show in 2000.
