We are heading into a bit of a cold snap and after a hot summer and mild fall and so the freezing weather may come as a bit of a shock to your system.  So guys, the answer to getting warmer is to shock your system even more!

My fellow friends, science compels me to report --If you are feeling chilly, you may want to watch-- a romantic movie or any of the so-called chick flicks!

A recent report in the Journal of Consumer Research reveals that participants who had just had iced tea or sat in a cold room were 83% more likely to choose to watch a love story compared with those who were not shivering.

Lewis & Clark Makes History –False Alarm — Dave’s Diary

Lewis and Clark are to the Northwest as cheese is to cheeseburgers.  They are part of our history and everywhere in our present. (Lewis & Clark, not cheese)  On this day in history their diary records them saying "Ocean in view!"

Not so fast.  It was just the estuary -- 20 miles short of the Pacific and bad weather would pin them down for a few days more.
