Steve Caffrey, the longtime CEO of the Capital Theatre in Yakima will retire next year. The theatre board announced that Caffrey submitted his retirement through a letter last week.   He oversaw expansion and improvements including the 4th Street Theatre, but the theatre also struggled at times financially.

In his letter to the board he described the decision to retire as an amicable one, reached through conversations with former Capitol board President Karen Hyatt and current President Mike Latimer.

Caffrey has been the CEO of the Capitol Theatre for the past 27 years.
