Cancer Survivor to Coach and Inspire at Northstar Lodge

Seems like everyone I know has had a brush with breast cancer in some way or another.  My brother’s wife, Lance Tormey’s mom, the list goes on.  Information and inspiration are key to waging a successful war on breast cancer.  To that end author, Breast Cancer Survivor and Organizational Coach Sheri Kay will speak at a Learn at Lunch program on June 15 at 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM at North Star Lodge Cancer Care Center, 808 N. 39^th Ave., Yakima.  Diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010, Kay began to capture her journey through blogging and quickly found that she inspired others through her writing. She has since become a friend and confidante to many women fighting the same battle and hopes that her words will continue to be a source of hope and strength for people facing not only breast cancer, but any of life’s challenges.

Following a 30-year career in dentistry, Kay decided to pursue post-graduate studies in both Organizational Development and Coaching and is an accomplished Organizational Coach.  She is passionate about building collaborative teams and forging a sense of community with everyone she touches.

Kay was named one of the top 25 Women in Dentistry by Dental Products Report magazine in 2011.  Kay continued to counsel dentists and dental practice teams even as she was undergoing a difficult phase of cancer treatment. 

This presentation is part of a coordinated therapy program at North Star Lodge that supports cancer survivors, their caregivers and family members in all phases of their cancer journey.
