Washington winery owners and suppliers are reaching out to see how they can help those impacted by fires in California wine country. Barb Glover Executive Director of Wine Yakima Valley tells KIT News. "I do think we're going to see a major effort from the Washington wine industry supporting the California industry that's been hit so hard."
Glover says while she expects Washington winery owners and suppliers to reach out to help however they can they're also concerned about their own product in this state because of all the smoke the state saw over the summer months from wildfires. She says research is ongoing at WSU as to how the smoke will impact wine grapes and the actual taste of Washington wines.
