Fiber optic installation will affect traffic at 56th and Summitview on August 23rd.

The installation of fiber optic lines in the west part of Yakima will interrupt the traffic
signal at 56th Avenue and Summitview Avenue from mid morning until mid afternoon on
Thursday, August 23rd.

The traffic signal at the busy intersection will be placed in the flashing mode while the
fiber optic line installation project is underway. Flaggers will direct drivers though the
intersection.

LS Networks will be putting in underground lines in the area as part of a project linking
satellite towers and other telecommunications facilities located throughout Yakima.
Work on the project is expected to begin at about 9:00 am on Thursday and be
completed by 3:00 pm.

If possible, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes on Thursday in order to keep
traffic in the project area to a minimum.

For more information on the project, call 575-6138.
