Tuesday is an important day for two races in Yakima County elections.

The Primary Election will be certified Tuesday, when all the numbers from the district will be available.

Yakima attorney Michael Scott Brumback is confident he will be a General Election contender for the 14th District seat held by state Rep. Norm Johnson. Brumback will not officially know until tomorrow if he has gained the 1 percent of the district vote as a write-in candidate, but he is confident enough that he is already putting together a team for the General Election.

The final numbers for the Yakima County clerk's office will be available Tuesday as well. The count will determine who will be the top two contenders in that race. Currently it is a three-way sprint involving Janelle Riddle, Sarah Matheny and Kathleen Carter.
