Ballot counting continues in the Yakima County Auditors’ office today from Tuesday's primary election.

County Auditor Corky Holloway says they have not yet determined if write-in candidate Michael Scott Brumback will make the top two cut as an opponent to 14th District State Rep. Norm Johnson. Ballots are being counted and researched throughout the district to determine if Brumback has reached the required one percent of the total vote to move to the general election.

Election officials say the answer may not come until August 19 when the election is certified.

In the race for Yakima County Clerk Janelle Riddle remained in the lead followed by Sarah Matheny and Kathleen Carter. It is possible that race may call for a recount.
