I blame this on the fact that my children run in age from 15 months to 16 years. Who has time to go to the movies?

I love the movies! I love the Oscar ceremonies! I will watch them on Sunday, but I have to admit, I've only seen one nominated film this year. That was nominated for best animated feature, "Pirates:Band of Misfits". Now don't get me wrong. I really enjoyed it and so did my whole family. It was produced by the same British producer that brought us "Wallace and Grommit", so they have some Oscar chops.

As I said before, I love the movies. Nothing beats the theatre experience. The previews, the features, the popcorn. But when you have a 7-year-old with ADHD who is only good for about 70 minutes of movie, it can be a challenging outing. That and two under 17 teenage daughters that think Dad should take them to R rated films, mostly the slasher variety. Not going to happen.

I will watch the Oscars on Sunday, because I have seen most of the nominated actors in other films. And I enjoy the musical performances, and the "In Memorium" segment where  honor is payed to those in the film industry that have passed away in the last year. Also, they are doing a tribute to 50 Years of the James Bond 007 film franchise this year. I understand that Dame Shirley Bassey, who sang the theme to "Goldfinger", will be a part of it. And I hope that all of the actores who have played Bond will be on stage. Seeing Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig in the same place at the same time would be awesome.
