The latest Powerball Jackpot is expected to hit at least $425 million. Can you pick the winner?

The previous top Powerball prize was $365 million, which was won in 2006 by ConAgra Foods Workers in Lincoln, Neb. The Powerball lottery is played in 42 states, Washington D.C. and the US Virgin Islands.

Makes you think, doesn't it?

That's a lot of money, a lot of day dreams. If you play Powerball, how do you pick the numbers?

Some people go with the "quick pick", letting the lottery terminal pick random numbers. To me this is just as good as any, as I only play when it's a huge jackpot.

Some people choose "lucky numbers", like birthdays or family ages. If I went with birthdays, my numbers would be 3, 7, 10, 16, 21 and 23. (If you play those, mail me a check)

Then, there's the popular "fortune cookie" method.

Lots of fortune cookies served at Chinese restaurants have six lucky numbers printed on the backs of their fortunes. They are random numbers, but there's something mystical about them. Remember, the odds of winning the big Powerball jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510.00. You need all the help you can get.
