The Washington State Patrol is investigating a crash north of Zillah that killed one teenager and injured another.

Troopers say 18-year-old Jeremiah Atkins of Zillah died at the scene early Monday morning when he drove through a stop sign and crashed into another car at Gilbert Road and Cheyne Road.

Paramedics airlifted the driver of the other car, 17-year-old Cassandra Silva of Toppenish, to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. No word yet on her condition.

State Patrol says both cars went off the roadway in the crash. Troopers say Atkins rolled the car and crashed into a power pole, Silva crashed into a tree.
