I have never been drawn to “brand-name-merchandise” type products. I’m sure it has something to do with me never having enough money to afford them but I digress! I assumed that for many people it was the unspoken advertisement that the wearer or owner had reached a certain level of status and they were more than happy to share or rub even it in. But some new research reported by the UK Daily Mail shows that improved performance may come along with the logo.

In one experiment, participants were all given the same golf putter, but only half were told the putter was Nike brand, while the other half were given no brand information. The results showed participants who believed they were playing with a Nike putter took fewer putts to sink the golf ball— approximately a 20 percent improvement.
The bottom line is that if you believe in the product, you’ll be more relaxed in its use which in turn will result in better performance.
