A body found on the Fred Redmon Bridge north of Selah last summer has been identified as the body of a missing man from Toppenish.

Yakima County sheriff's officials say the body is that of 33-year-old Vicente Rodriguez-Carrillo, who had been living in Toppenish for about a year. Rodriguez-Carrillo was reported to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office as a missing person on Sept. 3 by relatives who live out of state.

Detectives obtained DNA samples from the family and a laboratory compared the samples to the DNA of the deceased. The lab confirmed the body is that of Rodriguez-Carrillo. Investigators ask anyone with information regarding activities or associates of Mr Rodriguez-Carrillo in the weeks and months leading to his death in July 2016 to contact the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, 574-2500 or 800-572-0490. Tips -- including anonymous tips -- can also be called into Crime Stoppers of Yakima County at 248-9980 or 800-248-9980. Or check in via the web at yakima.crimestoppersweb.com.
