TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A big fire destroyed a warehouse and injured three firefighters early Sunday morning, KOMO-TV reports.

The fire started about 1 a.m. at the former Tacoma Steel Works building and consumed nearly an entire city block, the station says.

KOMO reports that firefighters said the blaze was so intense it melted the structure's steel beams.

The former warehouse was being used as a parking garage.

The station says that three firefighters were treated at the scene for minor injuries.
