Electricians are working to install the lights in the Yakima Illuminations: Bins of Light art project above the Lincoln Avenue underpass. The large metal structures that resemble fruit bins stacked on top of each other are set to be installed on Thursday when drivers will see the beginning of a project.  The project will be 17 feet high at its tallest point. It's specifically designed to look like colorful, flashing fruit boxes, illuminated at night by red and yellow led lights and lit in the daytime by natural light. And a sensor will be installed to trigger the lights to flash as trains pass over the underpass. the project is expected to take 4 to 6 weeks to complete.
