So what in the world is wrong with alleged comedian Bill Maher?  How can a person of his reasonable intelligence reach the conclusions he has -- or maybe the question should be what the heck have I missed?  Not just me but millions of Americans.  What is the actual damage that President Donald Trump has inflicted on the country?  Where is the body count, the lost opportunities, the financial ruin, the destruction of quality of life?  What am I missing here.?

Check out the latest from Maher as reported in an article in the Patriot Post.  Maher admitted on his TV Show (why does ha have a TV show again?) that he wants the country to fail, for people to suffer, all as a motivation to get rid of the President.  Think about that the next time you are tempted to support his program on HBO.

"Later in the show, which features a panel discussion, Maher responded to the undeniable fact that under Trump the U.S. economy is doing extremely well. Maher remarked, “I feel like the bottom has to fall out [of the economy] at some point, and by the way, I’m hoping for it.” And then Maher doubled down, saying, “I think one way you get rid of Trump is a crashing economy. So, please, bring on the recession. Sorry if that hurts people, but it’s either root for a recession or you lose your democracy.”​

There you have it, from the horses mouth -- but I suggest it's more accurately a quote from a donkey's mouth--a male donkey,  which by definition is a jackass.  Maher asks us to consider financial ruin as a fair trade for a different president.    Ok, if that's the proposition, then before I sign on Bill, just tell me again, give me the list one more time of all the high crimes, misdemeanors, and impending disasters to America that have or will come with two more years of Trump in the White House in order to trade away one of the best economic booms in history.

Bad manners don't count, ego driven exaggeration doesn't count, uncouth comments about women don't count, acting "unpresidential" doesn't count. Just what is it that does count, what is worth undoing an economic achievement that Business Investors Daily called " a humdinger for President Trump. Coming in with the lowest of expectations, he has exceeded virtually all forecasts and the dire predictions of doom by his naysayers. Tax cuts and deregulation, the twin pillars of Trumponomics, have been a success by any measure. "

Maybe the Hollywood and TV types all have made so much money already that our previous Obama created dismal national economic condition didn't affect them? Whatever, they are out of touch with the real impact of a greatly improved economy on the rest of us.

Bottom line - perhaps we do the male donkey's on the farm a great disservice when we compare them to Bill Maher's braying. Here's an idea - lLet him pull the plow for five minutes in the real world and he just might sing a different tune about "bringing on the recession"!  Jackass!  (sorry donkeys)
