SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Officials say a wildfire burning near Spokane has scorched 150 acres and level 2 evacuations are still in effect.
Crews spent Tuesday night building a fire trail and working on a containment line but as of Wednesday morning, the fire was still not contained.
People living on Keenan Lane, Rutter Parkway, and Riverbluff Lane should be ready to leave their homes at a moment's notice.
Officials said the fire is burning near Indian Trail Road and Rutter Parkway. It is in the same area as the Little Spokane Fire that broke out in early July.
Department of Natural Resource officials say the fire is threatening 15 to 20 structures, many of them are houses.
The American Red Cross has opened an emergency shelter at Nine Mile Falls Elementary.
