No question about it. Yakima is “Country” country.  Three local radio stations play country music including our sister station KDBL 92.9 the Bull.  Seems like country concerts seem to do better than most here too.  Toby Keith came to town a few years back and he has been named the highest-paid country act of 2013 in a new Forbes magazine poll.

He earned the top spot after raking in $65 million since June, 2012, according to editors at the finance magazine. What about the crossover queen of country Taylor Swift?  She isn’t in need of a loan just yet.  She came in second place after taking in $55 million over the last 12 months thanks to her hit album "Red," which shifted 1.2 million copies in its first week alone. Kenny Chesney was at three with $53 million, Tim McGraw landed at four with $33 million and former "American Idol" star and recent Yakima visitor Carrie Underwood followed closely behind with $31 million.
