My relationship with Achieve Health & Fitness continues to pay dividends in improving health, greater strength and balance and a noticeably improved mood. Improved mood? Yup, just knowing you are doing the right thing and seeing the results is a mood enhancer but more than that, Time Magazine reports that science says resistance training itself is a mood enhancer.

Researchers reviewed 30 previously published studies looking for connections and they found resistance exercise training (RET) such as weightlifting and strength training, is associated with a significant reduction in the symptoms of depression.

Study author's say that strength training isn't a cure for depression the idea that it could help with symptoms is compelling because RET is readily accessible, affordable and possible to do at home. (Time)
