Justin Bieber hasn’t enjoyed the best of press coverage lately but maybe this story will turn things around for him.  Everyone will love it…except for PETA.An Australian newspaper reports that man was fishing in Russia when a brown bear came out of nowhere and started to attack him.  No, Bieber didn’t throw eggs at the bear.  Bieber wasn’t even there but his music was!  The fisherman’s phone rang and the ringtone –playing Bieber’s “Baby” scared the bear away.  Just like it did me the first time I heard it.

“Sometimes a sharp shock can stop an angry bear in its tracks and that ringtone would be a very unexpected sound for a bear,” a wildlife expert explained to the newspaper.

The man suffered serious injuries to his face and chest after the bear pounced on his back and began to claw at him. Fortunately, he was rescued by fellow fisherman after using his phone to call for help and is currently recuperating from his injuries.

And as for why the Russian fisherman had the Biebs as his ringtone? Well, he can thank his granddaughter for that.

“I know that sort of ringtone isn’t to everyone’s taste but my granddaughter loaded it onto my phone for a joke,” he explained.
