Baseball Coming Back to Yakima

Baseball is coming back to the Yakima County Stadium next year.

Pacific Baseball Ventures and officials from State Fair Park will sign a lease next week to bring West Coast League baseball to the Yakima County Stadium for the 2014 season.

Team President Zachary Fraser says he's excited about bringing baseball to a community that loves the sport.

“There’s an incredible baseball community. I mean in the collegiate world Yakima is one of the better markets in the whole region.”

Fraser invites the community to help name the Yakima team by clicking on the link at yakimabaseball.com. The top names will be announced during a press conference in Yakima next week in which we'll learn more about the plans of Pacific Baseball Ventures.

The first pitch for the yet unnamed team is set for June of 2014.
