I hope that you had the opportunity to watch the airing of “Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011” last night on ABC. Barbara Walters compiles her list for this years 10 most fascinating people, she did something for the first time since 1993. Barbara Walters  a person has been chosen  posthumously. This year’s most fascinating person is Steve Jobs, who died on October from cardiac arrest with pancreatic cancer as the underlying cause. A shocking choice, as Walters explained, because her rule has always been that the “Most Fascinating People” have to be living. When Jobs announced his retirement last summer, she said she knew he would be her pick. When he died, she decided to keep him on the list because, much like Jobs believed, “rules were made to be broken.” The other people chosen as “Fascinating”:

  • Derek Jeter
  • Donald Trump
  • Simon Cowell
  • “Modern Family” stars Eric Stonestreet & Jesse Tyler Ferguson
  • Katy Perry
  • Kardashian family
  • Herman Cain
  • Pippa Middleton
  • Amanda Knox
