Ballots for Yakima County voters should begin arriving in mailboxes today and Thursday, according to Auditor Corky Holloway, who says 106,000 ballots were sent out this week.

She expects a 62 percent turnout for the Nov. 4 General Election. That would be double the turnout of the primary election.

"That's what the state is predicting too, and we think we'll have the same turnout because we have some good races so people will get involved," Holloway says.
As for a voter pamphlet? You'll soon get a statewide voter pamphlet in the mail if you haven't already, but it won't include local races. Local auditors offices print the local pamphlet, and Yakima County decided to save money, cancel the guide and instead create a local guide that's now available on the Yakima County auditor's office website.
