Ballots begin arriving in the mail this week for a February 13 special election. Seven school districts, a Naches Fire District and the Naches Parks and Recreation are hoping for voters support. Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says they're sending out more than 47,000 ballots this week. "That includes Zillah, West Valley, Wapato, Granger, Union Gap, and East Valley."
The school district are hoping for levy replacements to pay for a long list of needs and programs. Voters in Naches are also being asked to support a $1.85 million bond to build a new fire station in fire district 3. And Naches Parks and Recreation District wants support for a two year $290,000 levy to replace a levy that's expiring.
Ballots should begin arriving in mailboxes on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
