YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — A judge has kept bail at $1 million for a suspect in the death of a woman whose body was found along a roadway with gunshot wounds in Yakima County.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports that 33-year-old Raven Cutler appeared in court Monday on a first-degree murder charge.

Cutler is accused of shooting 54-year-old Norma Emmerson, whose body was discovered Nov. 11.

Court documents allege that a witness told authorities Emmerson may have been killed because she knew about a killing that her ex-boyfriend had committed.

Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Mike Russell says authorities are looking into the information provided by the witness.

Cutler was arrested in North Plains, Oregon Nov. 24 after a warrant was issued for her arrest.
