Auto thefts in Yakima dropped significantly last year. The Northwest Insurance Council says Yakima saw a 30.8 percent degrease in thefts with 1,152 in 2013. Yakima's rate was still the third highest in the state and Washignton State saw and overall increase of 4.3 percent. In Washington State an average of 88 cars were stolen per day which averages out to nearly four vehicles per hour.
