Authorities Investigating Attempted Kidnapping In Sunnyside

Detectives from the Yakima County Sheriff's office are searching for a suspect who they say tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl in Sunnyside by grabbing her hair. Officials say the girl was walking in the area of East Madison and 17th Avenue at about 2:15 p.m. Wednesday when the man in a vehicle drove near her and asked what she was doing. Authorities say the man then exited his vehicle and tried to pull the girl into his SUV by grabbing her hair. The girl however was able to escape.
The white man in his 30's or 40's had red hair and a groomed beard. He was wearing jeans and a white t-shirt. The man was driving a maroon 2015 or 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander.
