With the valley’s abundant sunshine setting the mood and motivation, spring cleaning is well under way in many homes across the Yakima Valley. We at KIT are busy planning for our upcoming annual giant yard sale set for May 10th. Here’s an idea--let’s put your extra stuff in our sale and we’ll help you be happier as a result. How does that happen? Well, it might be a bit of a leap but the truth is, having a lot of material possessions does not make us happier.
Wildfire season officially begins one week from today and already the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has had 20 forest fires reported this year. Washington’s “summer fire rules” are in effect April 15 through October 15 and rules apply to the 13 million acres of private and state forest lands protected from wildfire by DNR.
Kit Radio aims to be where you are and that means on the air, on line, on your phone and in your face--book. We have an entire division of our Townsquare Media Corporate home office dedicated to social media. We do our own research and we research the research done by others--like the Pew Research Center. What those guys discovered the number one thing that we really, really don't like about Facebook is TMI. Too Much Information!
It never fails. Every time I get stuck in traffic behind an erratic driver it turns out to be somebody on a cell phone. Their willingness to put themselves at risk is one thing but they are jeopardizing everyone out on the road.
Here’s something interesting to chew on. The human body is still evolving and Spanish researchers have discovered that over time, the size of humans' teeth has decreased. That’s right. Our choppers are shrinking.
It’s about to be on like Donkey Kong! Or at least like Kong’s K-9! KIT’s “Leader of the Pack” contest is coming up in about a week or so. All five KIT staffers have dogs as pets and naturally each of us thinks our dog is best--now we need your help to prove it. In the days to come we’ll post pictures of our pooches like the mighty Dewey shown here.
Google “Hopper” and what will you find? A kangaroo and a basement full of Bostonians talking about multiple location TV recording? Sure, but dig a little deeper and you’ll find this --Hopper brings together travel tips and photos from the best blogs, reviews and trip journals all over the web. Who knew?
Say it isn’t so! The guy who claims to have killed Bigfoot LIED! “You can keep your health insurance” and “I have Bigfoot in the freezer” are now the two biggest lies in recent memory! I didn’t even know you could have a hoax within a hoax! It’s like a double Oreo cookie.
The Yakima City Council decided to proceed with a ban on the grow/package/sales of marijuana within the city limits and the critics all went crazy, saying we were handing the marijuana business over to the cartels. Newsflash!
