I am originally from Los Angeles, but grew up in Edmonton, Alberta. In between I spent two years of my childhood in Montana. One in Great Falls and the other in Havre. My mom married a Canadian when I was 9, and we moved to Canada. Because the winters in Edmonton were too damn cold, I moved back to California once I was 21. My radio career has taken me to Casa Grande, Ariz., and to Palm Springs, Fresno and San Luis Obispo, Calif., and back to Edmonton, and Yakima. I play poker, basketball and flag football in my free time. My claim to fame is that my wife Monica is sisters with the former Miss El Salvador 1996, who came in sixth in that year's Miss Universe competition. Of course I think my wife is prettier than her sister! I also have a 12-year-old daughter named Noel who is in junior high and was the fifth-grade champion high jumper.

Just One Reason Why The East Side Of Washington Is Better Than The West Side
My brother-in-law lives on the west side so I tend to get out to Seattle two to three times per year. Not too long ago my nephew traveled up from California to visit, so I met him out there and of course he wanted to do the typical tourist stuff such as visit Pike Place Market...
How Does The Fred Meyer Produce Department Not Get Overrun By Large Families?
Well into my 30's I was used to just being responsible for myself. If I was on the road and thirsty I would stop at a convenience store and buy a soda and if I was feeling really rebellious, maybe an ice cream bar. Well one day in the summer of 1998 my two nieces and my nephew came to visit...
Looking For A Staycation? Check Out The NW Railway Museum
I love the area around Snoqualmie and North Bend. There is plenty to do over the course of a weekend. You can check out Snoqualmie Falls, Downtown North Bend, hike on Mount Si and visit the NW Railway Museum. If, like me, as a kid you were always fascinated with trains this is a great opportunity to take a 70-minute journey on a real old-time locomotive and experience what it was like when the Gre
Save On Luggage Fees If You’re Flying To Las This Vegas Labor Day Weekend
Remember when you paid one price for a flight to your favorite destination and it included your luggage? Obviously those days are long gone. Discount airlines offer amazingly cheap fares (eg. Allegiant Air to Vegas) but to recover part of the revenue they lose by offering such cheap fares they charge for seat selection, soft drinks and yes, even carry on luggage...
Yakima Celebrates National Dog Day
It's National Dog Day and if your pooch is like mine there is nothing more they love than going to the dog park and smelling each others "business cards". So celebrate with them here is the Yakima Valley. Here are the 2 dog parks I could track down in the area...
Space Needle Ashtray Was a Fantastic Find
My weekend hobby is essentially picking. Unlike American Pickers, I'm not looking for everything under the sun. I look for Mid-Century Modern antiques and accessories. It's said that if you see something cool you've never seen before, that is the time to buy.
Your Keyboard Has More Germs On It Than Your Toilet
In the past I've worked for radio stations who have done a disgusting contest "Lick It To Win It" where they get listeners to one up themselves in regard to what they're willing to lick to win tickets. Inevitably someone says "I'll lick the inside of a toilet bowl" which seems like it would be quite nasty...
Yakima Makes Travel & Leisure’s List Of ‘America’s Coolest Desert Towns’
Travel & Leisure magazine's website posted an article ranking "America's Coolest Desert Towns" and Yakima came in at #10 out of 16. The article noted our standing as America's dominant growers of hops and apples and the hard work it took to turn the Yakima Valley from barren desert to a thriving agricultural hub and America's 3rd largest wine producing region...
In Yakima, You Can’t Escape The 12s, Part Deux
Last week I shared with you a badass Seahawk-logoed car. In another blog I did back in March I pointed out that it's nearly impossible to go more than a couple of hundred yards in any direction and not see a "12" of some kind (homemade or otherwise) in Yakima...
It’s Blackberry Picking Season in the Yakima Valley
Our digital guru JT invited me to his home in the nether regions of Selah to pick blackberries this weekend. In the store, blackberries are about $3.99 a pound, which seems silly to pay since they grow wild all over Washington.
